Misbah-Ul-Haq

Misbah-ul-Haq is a former Pakistani cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national team. He was born on May 28, 1974, in Mianwali, Punjab, Pakistan. Misbah-ul-Haq is considered one of the most successful cricket captains in Pakistan's cricket history. He was known for his calm and composed nature and his ability to lead the team under pressure.

Misbah-ul-Haq began his cricketing career in 1998 when he made his debut for Pakistan against New Zealand in a Test match. Misbah-ul-Haq's captaincy was not without controversy, however. In 2014, during a Test match against Sri Lanka, Misbah instructed his team to perform press-ups as a celebration after taking wickets. The celebration was seen as disrespectful by some, and Misbah was criticized for it. Misbah also came under criticism for his cautious approach to batting, which some felt was too defensive.

Misbah-ul-Haq retired from international cricket in 2017, bringing an end to a career that had spanned almost two decades. He finished with an impressive record of 5,222 runs in Test cricket at an average of 46.62, including 10 centuries and 39 half-centuries. He also scored 5,122 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs) at an average of 43.40, including 42 half-centuries.

Misbah's impact on Pakistani cricket has been significant. He helped to rebuild a team that had been rocked by scandals and internal conflicts and led them to the number one spot in the Test rankings. Misbah was known for his calm and composed nature, which was a source of inspiration for his teammates.

Misbah-ul-Haq's contribution to Pakistani cricket was recognized when he was appointed as the head coach and chief selector of the Pakistan cricket team in 2019. Misbah took over at a time when Pakistani cricket was once again in turmoil, with a string of poor performances and controversies surrounding the team.
