Mustafizur Rahman

Mustafizur Rahman ( Bangladeshi: He is a left-arm fast-medium bowling ace. After taking nine wickets in just ten games in the 2016 World Cup he has been awarded the T20 Emerging Players award. He was nicknamed "The Fizz", a former cricketer who has a record of being awarded the prestigious ISL Emerging Player Award (2016 Sunrisers Hyderabad). Mustafizur made his debut in a t20 cricket match against Pakistan in April 2015.

Early Life:

Mustafizur was the youngest of six siblings and had a keen interest in cricket from a very young age. He used to play with a tennis ball on the streets of his village and was spotted by a local coach who saw potential in him. Mustafizur started playing for his school team and later joined a local club where he honed his skills as a bowler. However, it was not until he moved to Dhaka in 2012 to join the pace bowling camp at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) that he started to make real progress.

Early Career:

Mustafizur's first-class debut came in 2014 when he was selected to play for Khulna Division in the National Cricket League. He had an impressive start to his career, taking 11 wickets in his first two matches, including a hat-trick against Chittagong Division. His performance earned him a spot in the Bangladesh A team, and he made his debut for the senior national team later that year in a T20 match against Pakistan.

Injury problems:

Mustafizur's early success was followed by a series of injuries that threatened to derail his career. He suffered a stress fracture in his back in 2015, which kept him out of action for several months. He returned to the team for the 2016 Asia Cup but suffered another injury, this time to his shoulder, which forced him to miss the rest of the tournament.

Emergence:

Despite his injury problems, Mustafizur emerged as one of the best bowlers in the world in 2016. He played a crucial role in Bangladesh's historic series win against India, taking 13 wickets in three matches. He was also named the Player of the Series in a tri-nation tournament involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Mustafizur's unique ability to bowl a variety of deliveries, including the slower ball and the cutter, made him a potent weapon for the Bangladesh team.

Indian Premier League:

Mustafizur's performances in international cricket earned him a contract with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2016. He was an instant success in the tournament, taking 17 wickets in 16 matches and helping his team win the title. He was named the Emerging Player of the tournament and became the first Bangladeshi player to win an IPL title.

Bangladesh Premier League:

Mustafizur's success in the IPL led to him being sought after in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as well. He was signed by the Rajshahi Kings in the 2016 edition of the tournament and went on to take 14 wickets in 11 matches. He continued to play in the BPL over the next few years, representing different teams and establishing himself as one of the premier fast bowlers in the tournament.
