Tamim Iqbal is a Bangladeshi cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the best opening batsmen in the country's cricket history. He made his debut for Bangladesh in 2007 and has since then become one of the most consistent performers for the team. Test Career:
Tamim made his Test debut opposed to New Zealand in Dunedin in 2008. Since then, he has played 64 Tests and scored 4,954 runs at an average of 39.97. He is the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs and is also the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 7,000 ODI runs. Tamim's best year in ODI cricket was 2010 when he scored 1,154 runs in 28 matches at an average of 45.76. He has also been named the Player of the Series in the Asia Cup twice - in 2012 and 2018.
T20I Career:
Tamim made his T20I debut opposed to Kenya in Nairobi in 2007. Since then, he has played 87 T20Is and scored 1,865 runs at an average of 23.31. His highest score in T20Is is 103*, which he scored against Oman in Dharamsala in 2016. Tamim has scored 1 T20I century and 13 half-centuries. He is the second-leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in T20Is. Tamim's best year in T20I cricket was 2016 when he scored 308 runs in 11 matches at an average of 27.90.
