The player widely known as one of the country’s best-ever batsmen has accumulated more than 60,000 wicket runs as captain and scored more than 300 Test triple-hundreds in his first three years with the United Kingdom. In July 2005 Notts signed Younis as New Zealand's skipper. Younis played four Championships in six matches starting on 7 July against Surrey at Trent Bridge.
